Founded by construction industry pioneer Leonhard Moll in 1894, our tradition-rich group of companies has written architectural history – in Munich and far beyond. Some of our major projects that have shaped the local cityscape include industrial plants built for BMW and Munich's breweries, cultural buildings for a university and the Neue Pinakothek art museum, Olympic sports venues and many others. This universal know-how in all areas of building construction and civil engineering as well as ancillary building trades, which has grown over the years, has also resulted in our current competence in the area of real estate. As a founding member of the largest municipal housing association in Munich in 1928, we have been developing, maintaining and managing our own and third-party real estate under the umbrella of Moll Immobilien Holding GmbH for many decades. With a local focus in Munich, but also in Berlin, Leipzig and Erfurt, our management portfolio of rental flats and commercial space is home to around 2,400 families and 1,300 companies. For our own portfolio, we work with around 30 employees to develop plots of land, design building projects, realise properties under our own management and, as a rule, also let each unit ourselves with the local administrations. In property development, we ensure the continued creation of rental space at fair conditions, and our portfolio of subsidised flats plays its part in easing the strain on Munich's tight housing market.

As a subsidiary of Moll Immobilien Holding GmbH, we are passionate about property management for the Moll Group's own properties, but also for private owners, institutional investors and corporations. Our focus is on the property management of residential and commercial properties. For this purpose, we use modern IT systems, the core of which is a specialised industry solution based on SAP. Our goal is the sustainable management and development of our clients' properties, without losing sight of the tenants' interests and aspects such as the optimisation of quality, costs and deadlines. Despite a high degree of digitalisation and all economic constraints, personal contact and a cooperative approach with our contract partners are important to us. Our claim is smooth building operation in compliance with legal requirements, maintenance and inspection obligations, defect rectification and the usual management measures.

Michael Katzenberger

After studying business administration, Michael Katzenberger joined Bayerische Rückversicherung (now Swiss Re) in October 1989. He worked as a financial consultant until he became the head of real estate management in January 1992. Michael joined the Moll Group in July 2000 where he works in the real estate division as executive director in charge of the commercial unit, including financing, IT and personnel.

Xaver Moll studied architecture at the Berlin Institute of Technology and at the Technical University of Munich. He has been working as an architect since September 1998. Starting out at MM Architects in London, he worked for several years in the office of Professor Steidle in Munich. After completing a work-study program to qualify as a real-estate economist (ebs), he joined Cells Bauwelt in June 2004 as a project developer. In January 2006, he started working for the Moll Group real estate division where he is responsible for the technical area with a main focus on construction and project development as well as on portfolio optimization.

Thomas Merker

After completing his apprenticeship as a businessman in the real estate and housing industry in 1997 at W. Rohrer & Sohn Hausverwaltung GmbH, Thomas Merker held further positions in the real estate industry at Ottmann GmbH & Co. Südhausbau KG, among others. After completing a part-time degree in business administration at the Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsakademie München e.V., he joined the real estate division of the Moll Group in July 2008. Since January 2022, Thomas Merker has been responsible for the operational area of real estate management as Managing Director.

Our company belongs to the Moll corporate group, which originated with the construction company Leonhard Moll founded in Munich in 1894. Today, our business division and the industrial division are combined under the umbrella of the family-owned holding company Moll GmbH & Co KG.
